Austin NeoKizomba, led by Charles Ogar, is dedicated to celebrating and preserving the cultural heritage of Kizomba, Urban Kiz, and Neo Kiz. Through the annual Neo Kizomba Festival and community programs, the project promotes the rich cultural roots and contemporary expressions of these dance forms. By offering high-quality dance instruction and engaging events, Austin NeoKizomba fosters a vibrant and inclusive dance community in Austin. The initiative connects participants to the deep cultural traditions of Kizomba and its modern evolutions, bridging the gap between African and African American communities, and enriching Austin's cultural landscape.
