Mama Duke, an award-winning, queer, Afro-Latina hip-hop artist, was featured in 2022 programming at Swan Dive (615 Red River St, Austin, TX 78701).
Swan Dive is a key venue in the city's Red River Cultural District known for showcasing rising independent artists. This event spotlighted BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and Latinx talent, expanding representation in Austin’s hip-hop and live music scene.
Swan Dive has hosted a range of genre-defining artists, making it a crucial space for emerging musicians to gain visibility in Austin’s competitive music industry. Through this event, Mama Duke’s electrifying performance brought together an audience that reflected the city's diverse creative landscape.
This program ensured access to professional production, high-quality performance spaces, and industry networking opportunities, positioning underrepresented artists at the forefront of Austin’s music culture. By providing a stage for marginalized voices, this event reinforced the need for equity and inclusion in the “Live Music Capital of the World.”

ATX Social Club – Behind the Scenes
ATX Social Club, founded by Mama Duke in 2019, is a groundbreaking digital platform redefining artist engagement. This behind-the-scenes work sample highlights the production process of "Artists You Should Know," an innovative variety show that merges live performance, artist interviews, and real-time jam sessions.
Designed to break barriers between artists & audiences, ATX Social Club provides emerging musicians—especially BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and underrepresented voices—a space to connect, collaborate, and grow their careers outside of traditional touring models. The featured sample showcases artist interviews, rehearsal footage, and live music production, giving insight into the creative process behind this game-changing digital platform that amplifies independent artists in Austin and beyond.
In addition to her role as founder, Mama Duke was featured as a guest artist on ATX Social Club, discussing her artistic journey and creative process. She also made waves with a live performance at KUTX Studio 1A, where she showcased tracks from her latest album, You Can Open Your Eyes Now (January 30, 2025, Triple Whammy Records). Recorded on June 7, 2024, this session featured new releases, including “Car Chronicles,” “Sin City,” and “Blood Stains.”
Her KUTX session, produced by Deidre Gott and filmed by Michael Minasi, Rene Dominguez, and Ryan Olszewski, captures the raw energy and authenticity that define Mama Duke’s artistry. Additionally, Mama Duke provides Spanish and English closed captioning for her music videos and online performances, making her work inclusive for bilingual audiences and individuals with hearing impairments. Her intentional approach to accessibility in music demonstrates a commitment to breaking barriers in live performance and digital content, ensuring that all fans—regardless of language or ability—can fully engage with her art.
